About The Author...
Kathleen Dillon is a writer. Next to choosing which tree, her
favorite part of the annual season is untrimming.
Since friends help with the trimming at her annual party, taking
the decorations down gives her the chance to see all her
ornaments and savor the memories they evoke. Despite following
the instructions in her book, putting on the lights is her least
favorite part. She’s seen here with one of her assistants
(Beagle) and her grandfather’s gold ball – handed down from
1879. It’s heavy glass with gilt painted on the inside.
Tradition plays a massive role in most aspects of the holiday
season so even the box she stores the ornament in is the one her
grandparents used nearly a century ago.
